Skincare content that shows its work.
Skin & Truths started from one annoyance: most skincare content tells you what to do without explaining what's actually happening on your skin. We wanted the mechanism, not just the instruction.
What we do differently
Every article starts with a question a real reader searched for, like "why is my face burning after this serum" or "is this purging or a breakout." We answer it by explaining the underlying biology first: what layer of skin is involved, what the ingredient chemically does, and why the timeline looks the way it does. The routine advice comes after the mechanism, not instead of it.
No product placement
We don't accept payment to feature or recommend specific products. When we mention an ingredient, it's because it's relevant to the mechanism being explained.
Claims are checked against research
Where a claim is contested or the evidence is mixed, we say so, instead of presenting one study as settled science.
Written for skimmers and readers both
Every article has a direct answer near the top for people who want the takeaway fast, and the full explanation below for people who want the reasoning.
What this isn't
This site is educational, not a substitute for a dermatologist. We can explain how salicylic acid dissolves oil inside a pore; we can't look at your skin and tell you what's actually going on with it. If something is persistent, painful, or spreading, that's a reason to see a professional, not a reason to keep reading forums.
Questions or corrections
If something in an article is inaccurate or out of date, we want to know. Corrections get made, not buried.
